Gledhill Torrent Direct Thermal Stores are a range of primary thermal stores that are designed to provide hot water without the need for a pressure and temperature relief valve.
Unlike unvented cylinders, the Gledhill Torrent Direct Thermal Store requires no maintenance. This can help reduce running costs for the homeowner.
Due to high performance flow rates achievable from this thermal store, a bath can be filled in approximately 4 minutes.
The Torrent Direct is a fully packaged combination unit, providing mains pressurised hot water via electricity. The unit includes a feed and expansion tank, thus eliminating problems associated with a cold water cistern in the roof.
Two immersion heaters are also supplied with the Torrent Direct. Because of their low wattage density, these immersion heaters allow for extra quiet operation.
The siting options for this thermal store could not be more flexible, as flow for power showers and draw off for baths are all fed from the one unit.
The Torrent thermal storage system is supplied with
a primary water store. The primary water in the store
is heated by off-peak electricity via an immersion heater.
Secondary water flows directly from the cold
mains into a secondary coil where it is heated by the
store before being delivered to the taps.
