Gledhill Torrent Indirect Thermal Stores are a range of primary thermal stores that are designed to provide hot water without the need for a pressure and temperature relief valve.
Unlike unvented cylinders, the Gledhill Torrent Indirect Thermal Store requires no maintenance. This can help reduce running costs for the homeowner.
Due to high performance flow rates achievable from this thermal store, a bath can be filled in approximately 4 minutes.
The Torrent Indirect is a mains pressure vented hot water cylinder that can be used with gas or oil boilers. It is suitable for both open vented and sealed systems.
In open vented systems, the primary store and heating circuit are filled from the same F & E Tank (not included). This means that water treatment can be introuduced through the F & E Tank.
In sealed systems, the primary store water doesn't mix with the sealted heating circuit. This means water treatment should be introduced through the header tank for the primary store, or via the radiator for the heating circuit.
The Torrent thermal storage system is supplied with
primary water from the boiler which heats the store via a
primary coil. Secondary water flows directly from the cold
mains into a secondary coil where it is heated by the
store before being delivered to the taps.
