Mains Pressure Thermal Stores
The Gledhill Torrent Direct is an electrically heated, mains pressure hot water thermal store, which makes the most of off-peak tariffs. The Gledhill Torrent Direct is a combination unit which incorporates a feed and expansion tank, and eliminates the problems associated with a cold water cistern in the roof space. It is supplied complete with two low watts density immersion heaters for extra quiet operation. ‘Draw-off’ for baths and ‘flow’ for power showering operate from this one compact unit which means there are more siting options, maximising building design flexibility.
The Gledhill Torrent Indirect is a mains pressure vented hot water thermal store suitable for open vented and sealed heating systems. The Gledhill Torrent Indirect unit can be fitted with a conventional ‘S’ plan, ‘Y’ plan or a control system of your choice and can be made suitable for either left or right fitting. It is also suitable for twin pump systems.
The five The Gledhill Torrent Renewable Energy models bring the advantage of harnessing the chosen energy source to supplement both hot water and heating requirements.
The Gledhill Torrent ‘RE’ Solar is an open vented system and is therefore inherently safe. It is not subject to Building Control Regulation G3 – thus simplifying system maintenance enormously for landlords or homeowners. There is no requirement for expensive controls such as pressure and temperature (P&T) relief valves or expansion vessels – nor for annual servicing, saving approx £100 per annum. Without the need for a runaway to ground, Torrent ‘RE’ Solar is a particularly popular choice in apartments. Being a primary store, it is also possible to incorporate energy inputs from sources such as a range boiler, wood burning or pellet stove – again reducing the reliance on fossil fuels. The energy produced can then be used in the heating system in addition to providing domestic hot water.
