Heaters

Electric Heating

Electric heating offers wide range of options to meet almost every need. An electric heating appliance is 100% efficient (because all the electrical energy used is delivered into the room as useful heat) but the process of producing electric at the source is not the most efficiently produced fuel.

Energy saving devices are fitted to most modern electrical heating products. These devices include thermostats, sensors and programmers to use this heat more effectively.

Whilst electric heating is by far the cheapest form of heating to install - be advised that electrical heating can be more expensive under some loads and usage patterns.

Panel heaters

Panel heaters come in a large choice of types, styles and sizes to suit most rooms - even bathrooms. Features which you may expect to find in panel heaters are built in control thermostats, economy setback (allowing control of back ground temperatures when unoccupied) and built-in timers. Panel heaters are quick and easy to install, very quiet and provide responsive heat. These units are available as Convector Heaters or Radiant Panel Heaters

Storage Heaters

Storage Heaters use low cost electricity, such as Economy 7 and White Meter. These tariffs are available from electricity suppliers around the UK and generally provide the supply at around half the normal price.

The principle of operation of all storage heaters is the same. A core of very high density bricks store heat during the hours that cheaper rate electricity is available and then deliver that heat up to the room, as and when required. Even though the bricks are very well insulated, to retain the stored heat until required, because the temperature within the core is extremely high there will always be a small proportion of heat continuously given up to the room.

Fan Heaters

Fan Heaters provide rapid warm up and assist good air circulation. There are a number of different types available to suit the location. Because they tend to be more ‘compact’ than convector heaters they are ideal space saving appliances in areas such as bathrooms or kitchens, where space is usually at a premium.

Wall Mounted Fan Heaters

Wall mounted fan heaters are ideal choices for bathrooms and kitchens, incorporating a simple pull-cord operation, built in thermostat and timer. A version is also available which incorporates a built-in shaver socket.

Wall mounted fan convector heaters are suitable for fitting at low level and operate by drawing air into a grille on the front and delivering warmed air into the room through a base grille. These units have a ‘fan only’ facility for air circulation in summer.

Plinth Heaters

Plinth fan heaters have been designed to fit into the ‘kicking board’ of kitchen units, base units of bathroom furniture or false walls. These units are available with integral thermostat, remote control panel and fan only option for ‘cool air circulation’.
