STEP 2B - Determine what pipe spacing for your underfloor heating is needed to heat your property. This may affect the size of pack you need.

Pipe Spacing
Typical Application
250mm
  • New laid screed floors (min 65mm), where the area is insulated to current Building Regulation standards.
  • Comfort heating for conservatories.
  • Boiler has an output > 70°C.
200mm
  • Batten / Dry Mix floor construction, typically used when you don’t have the depth for a screed, or where you have an existing floor.
  • New laid screed floors (min 65mm) where the area is either insulated to a lower standard than current Building Regulations or you require a higher heat output (e.g. areas with substantial glazing).
  • Comfort heating for conservatories.
  • Boiler has an output >55°C.
150mm
  • New laid screed floors (min 65mm) where the heat source is less than 55°C (e.g. Geothermal)
  • Primary heating for well insulated conservatories.

STEP 2C - SOLUTION™ packs are sized for 250mm pipe spacing, so lower pipe spacing will require a larger pack. Refer to the table below.
