System boilers make for easier boiler installations

System boilers are designed primarily to make the installers lives easier. The system boiler contains an expansion vessel and circulation pump that is built in to them, saving installers fitting all the different components separately. A system boiler will eliminate the need for a cold water tank because it heats the water straight from the mains similar to a combi boiler.

System boilers offer a compact installation because of the fact that they have all the components built in to the boiler itself. They do away with the loft tank, freeing up space in your home, also giving you less external components to keep maintained. The system boiler can provide hot water from more than one place and it is a higher water pressure than a combi boiler.

The advantages of a system boiler:

  • System boilers provide high water pressure, because the storage heater is retained
  • A system boiler gives more space because it takes away the need for a cold water tank
  • System boilers are more compact than other boilers
  • System boilers are great in larger houses because it’s possible to supply hot water from multiple outlets
  • System boilers are easy to install

The disadvantages of a system boiler:

  • A system boiler can be expensive to install and repair
  • A system boiler still means you need space for a hot water storage cylinder
