Bathrooms - At home on the range - in the bathroom

While many homeowners will pay little attention beyond the basics - a toilet, shower and sink - when decorating their bathroom, they have been advised to take advantage of the space to make "a big difference" to one of the unsung rooms in the family home.
AnnaRae Mills has urged householders to consider adding some decorative features to their
bathrooms, noting the time spent their both morning and evening preparing for the day or night ahead, tipping a western theme to lasso those undertaking home improvement work.
"Our favourite decor ideas for the bathroom are ones from the western, south-western, lodge and rustic styles of home decorating," she said.
"For example, western-style decor might include items related to western scenery or settings, cowboys and cowgirls, or horses, as well as rodeo and ranching activities."
She added that such features can be easily incorporated into a bathroom through the design of common items for the room, such as shower curtains, toothbrush holders, rubbish bins and soap dishes.
The Bathroom Design Guide claims that - as the most frequently-used rooms in the house - the bathroom and kitchen can play a key role when house-hunters make a decision to buy a new home.
