Bathrooms - Quarter of Brits are not contents-insured

New research which reveals that a large number of Britons do not have adequate insurance suggests that they are putting their property in danger every time they carry out DIY.
The study by Confused.com found that one-quarter of those who responded said they do not have home contents insurance, despite the Easter weekend DIY activities being around the corner.
With the holidays being a prime time for the UK to carry out DIY, such as decorating the bathroom, an accident like a spot of paint on the carpet could prove costly.
Debra Williams, manager director of Confused.com, said: "By failing to insure their home contents, Britons are potentially setting themselves up for a large bill, not to mention emotional turmoil, should they be unfortunate enough to suffer any loss or damage."
The study comes as insurer Allianz estimates that DIY will cause £25 million in damage to homes this Easter, with 50 per cent of Britons admitting they carry out tasks without knowing what they are doing.
