Bathrooms - Toilet museum says visitor was ''out of order''
13/09/2007
A new museum telling the story of toilets through the ages has been forced to add "not for use" signs after a visitor used one of its exhibits.
The museum in Kiev, which claims to be the first of its kind in the world, includes toilets from the most primitive - a hole in the ground - to high-tech toilets.
Since news of the story broke, Vassiliy Kovalchuck, 28, has admitted to the offence and has been arrested by local police.
He told ananova.net: "I didn't realise they were only to look at when I was caught short.
"They told me afterwards visitors are supposed to use the public toilets on the street. I told them I want my money back."
He has since apologised to museum staff.
The museum which opened last week also includes a range of toilets of the future.
Heat and Plumb sells a wide range of
toilet fittings and accessories including novelty
toilet seats with dolphin and barbed wire patterns as well as toilet handles and hinges.
