Boilers - Council organises grant scheme

A London borough has reportedly negotiated a deal to help its residents upgrade their heating systems.
Brent council's agreement with London Warm Zone and Energy Solutions will allow local people to obtain grants for the installation of insulation, new
boilers and central heating repairs, reports Southern Housing.
Grants to assist with costs are available to both homeowners and tenants, while some people claiming benefits could have work done for free.
The council's director of housing and community care Martin Cheeseman said people taking advantage of the programme are likely to improve their home's energy efficiency and cut their heating bills.
He added: "This is a great opportunity for people to make improvements to their homes."
The government recently wrote to around 250,000 people receiving pension credit to encourage them to apply for home improvement grants from the Warm Front scheme, which could enable them to fit new boilers or loft insulation.
