Boilers - Efficient houses ''attract buyers''
08/05/2008
Buyers who are increasingly aware of energy-efficiency will be attracted to houses with good heating and plumbing systems, sector experts have claimed.
The Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (IPHE) revealed that house buyers will recognise the financial and environmental benefits of owning a home with more efficient technologies.
Danny Davis, senior technical engineer for the IPHE, said: "Energy-conscious consumers would certainly be attracted to a house incorporating both energy and water conserving technologies over a similar house without such measures in place."
Earlier this year, the World Wildlife Fund cited government figures which claimed one-third of UK homeowners intend to improve the energy-efficiency of their property.
The group pointed out that houses contribute around a third of the country's carbon emissions and Energy Performance Certificates had helped to encourage people to increase their efficiency.
One way to reduce a home's carbon emissions is to install products such as Vaillant or Baxi condensing combi gas
boilers, which can be found at Heat and Plumb.
