Boilers - Expert endorses energy-efficient boilers

UK homeowners looking to mitigate the impact of rising oil prices on their heating bills should invest in an energy-efficient boiler, an engineering expert has said.
Heating bills are set to soar this winter as a direct result of skyrocketing prices for oil, which recently surpassed the $100 per barrel-mark for the first time ever.
However, according to Stephen Grant of Grant Engineering upgrading your old boiler for a new energy-efficient model can cut bills by 25 per cent.
Mr Grant also recommended adjusting your thermostat, draught-proofing your home and, since 15 per cent of all heat is estimated to be lost through the roofs of homes, ensuring your attic is insulated effectively, the Irish Independent reports.
Heat and Plumb sells a range of energy-efficient
boilers including models from Vokera and Trianco.
Trianco recently claimed that investing in one of its award-winning Class B
boilers would repay the initial outlay to its buyer within two years, as a result of reduced heating bills.
