Boilers - Hips to offer new boilers
27/12/2007
Home information packs (Hips) have been rolled out across all properties in England and Wales and the move is likely to see a surge in new boiler purchases.
Environmentally-friendly
boilers are set to see an increase in demand following the introduction of the new packs across all properties, because they will offer homeowners the chance to improve the energy efficiency of their property.
As part of the Hips scheme, properties need to have an energy rating certificate. For those properties that receive low energy efficiency ratings, homeowners will be able to obtain government grants to carry out work to improve the property's energy efficiency.
Housing minister Yvette Cooper explained: "Those buyers with low rated homes will also be able to get grants to help put in things like loft insulation or a new boiler."
Heat and Plumb sells energy-efficient boilers from Ariston, Maxol as well as highly acclaimed models from Trianco and Vokera.
