Boilers - Homeowners ignorant of how to cut energy use
31/10/2007
UK homeowners would like to cut their carbon footprint and energy bills but are unsure how to do so, new research has revealed.
According to a survey from Survey Sampling International on behalf of pump manufacturer Grundfos, 81 per cent of Britons want to actively contribute to the country's cutting energy use and thus help preserve the environment.
However, most are clueless as to how this might be achieved - a fact borne out by the general lack of awareness of the energy consumption of household appliances also uncovered by the survey.
More than 50 per cent of respondents did not know that circulator pumps are often the most energy-hungry appliances in a home, and frequently consume more energy in their use than washing machines.
Homeowners looking to cut their carbon footprint and cut the level of energy wasted in their home might like to consider an energy efficient boiler such as the Worcester Combi Gas Boiler Greenstar 42CDi or similarly effective models from Trianco and Vokera.
