Boilers - New boilers and insulation recommended for green homeowners
04/01/2008
Making changes to the heating systems in your home is a far more effective way of cutting your carbon footprint than changing aspects of your lifestyle, it has been claimed.
Features and news items in the national press which include tips as to how to live a greener lifestyle frequently focus on behavioural changes, such as turning off lights or turning your thermostat down.
However, according to Neil Marshall, chief executive of the National Insulation Association, installing insulation or buying an energy-efficient boiler is a far more effective approach to take in the long-term.
He said: "Behavioural measures tend to last for a short amount of time
but practical measures like insulation, once installed, last forever."
He continued: "With ever increasing living expenses it is more cost effective than ever to insulate your home in order to reduce energy bills, and with the growing concerns on climate change, insulation is a major way of reducing a carbon footprint."

boilers from Vokera and Vaillant as well as Trianco's air source heat pump.
