Boilers - Plumbing students learning on Vokera boilers
29/10/2007
New recruits to plumbing will be schooled in the very latest heating solutions such as Vokera
boilers at a new facility at Darlington college in the Tees Valley.
The school was opened this week at a ceremony attended by representatives of Vokera, along with Halstead boilers and Corgi, the Evening Gazette reports.
Students will work on Vokera boilers which have been modified to include faults, which the pupils are then tasked with rectifying while being scrutinised by college staff.
Darlington College assistant director in technology Steve Richardson, Darlington College assistant director in technology, said: "This sort of work is very technical nowadays and requires a lot of skill.
"So we need to make sure that the workforce is trained in the right areas.
"Darlington College is the perfect environment for this and industry being involved is fundamental to the success of the initiative."
