The transformation of a derelict 1920s building into a state-of-the-art energy-efficient eco-home was sealed a top building award for a construction company.
Oxford-based firm Bybridge Construction have been named Master Builder of the Year for a £76,000 renovation project, the Oxford Mail reports.
The scheme saw a former Wesleyan chapel fitted with a number of energy-efficient heating solutions such as a new boiler and an
underfloor heating system.
Meanwhile, the use of low voltage lighting and a wood burning stove boosted the property's environmental credentials still further.
Bybridge Construction managing director Mark Gaul, 32, said: "I was completely overwhelmed when the announcement was made - I could hardly stand up out of my chair!"
"It was a tough but interesting job. We enjoyed the build and are delighted with the result."
The house next door is also now to be revamped into an eco-home, with one of the key features set to be a heat pump running from the stream.
Heat and Plumb sells a number of the products incorporated in the Oxford-based project, including energy-efficient
boilers from Vokera and Trianco, Worcester Greenskies' Solar Package FKC-1S or one of the Activair Air Source Heat Pumps from Trianco.
