Fires and Heaters - Dimplex backs community challenge
20/05/2008
Products from heating specialist Dimplex are being used to ensure a Bristol community centre stays warm.
The Ashton Vale Club, in the centre of Ashton Vale housing estate, was the subject of a special community challenge issued to social housing maintenance provider Connaught.
Dimplex was one of the firms that supported Connaught in the challenge and supplied the refurbished centre with five PLX panel heaters for use in the main games room.
The firms worked with Business in the Community and voluntary youth organisation Young Bristol to complete the project.
Lee Williams, Young Bristol's club manager, commented: "We just want to say a massive 'thank you' for all the hard work and commitment shown and of course to Dimplex and the other sponsors without whom it would not have been possible."
He also said that the club would have a positive effect on the local community in the immediate and distant future.
Dimplex claims that the ultra-slim PLX panel heaters are used by contractors because of their efficient and space-saving features.
The firm also manufactures a range of heating solutions, such as heat pumps, domestic fires and solar water heating, in addition to carrying out research and development into innovative products.
