Fires and Heaters - Harlequin tanks dips its wick
07/09/2007
Inspecting Harlequin's oil storage tanks will now be easier than ever thanks to the incorporation of a fitted dipstick.
The oil storage manufacturer's single skin and bunded
oil storage tanks will now have a dipstick attached to the underside of the storage inspection cap, OilFiredup reports.
This removes the need to remove the tank's cap and eliminates the likelihood of the dipstick falling inside, with users able to read the level of fuel inside by comparing it to a level indicator on the exterior of the tank.
The introduction of the innovation comes after initial trials at the Federation of Petroleum Suppliers' Annual Conference in Telford, earlier this year.
John Switzere, Harlequin sales and marketing manager, said: "Having consulted extensively with fuel distributors and tanker drivers, many delivery personnel still demonstrate a perfectly understandable preference for a visual reference point, prior to filling."
