Heating Controls - Ceres develops combined heat and power unit

Ceres, a leading developer of fuel cell technology, has developed a wall-mountable combined heat and power unit.

The unit marks a new step in its programme with British Gas, which focuses on designing and building heat and power applications, the company claims.

Peter Bance, chief executive of Ceres Power said: "Building on our established technology leadership, we have now developed the product engineering capabilities and supply chain relationships that have enabled us to demonstrate an integrated wall-mountable CHP unit."

The compact size of the product, coupled with its wall mountable design, bodes well for residential sales both in the domestic market and abroad, he added.

The CHP unit uses the same natural gas, water and electricity connections as a boiler, which should make it easy to install, Ceres says.
