Heating giant pushes people towards kitchen

Heating specialist Glen Dimplex Home Appliances is trying to get more people back in the kitchen, it has been reported.
The firm, which owns brands such as Lec and Dimplex, is working with the Women's Institute (WI) to reintroduce people to cooking skills, according to ERTWeekly.com.
One of the projects the heating firm is backing is the launch of a new cookery school at the WI's Denman College in Oxfordshire.
Explaining why the company was trying to get people back into the kitchen, Glen Dimplex Home Appliances chief executive Denver Hewlett told the publication: "People becoming increasingly interested in the quality, nutritional value and origin of the food that they are eating.
Mr Hewlett also there has been a resurgence in interest in traditional cooking in recent years, although many people have lost their skills in the kitchen.
At the college, the WI offers a range of courses including Food for a Healthy Heart, Variety for Vegetarians, Middle Eastern Cookery and Designer Dinner Parties.
