30/04/2008
Home improvement tips that will boost the value of a house have been highlighted by financial experts.
Moneyexpert.com notes that features such as
radiators and central heating, modern
bathrooms and well-fitted out kitchens will cause a home to be more attractive to potential buyers.
Having a modern kitchen, including good quality products such as
taps and sinks, is noted as being a main selling point of a home, which will add value onto a property.
Bathrooms are also singled out as drawing the attention of buyers, with a second bathroom recommended if resources allow.
The website advises: "Bank holidays are an ideal time to shop for a new kitchen or bathroom as many stores offer discounts and you can benefit from their free design services."
Also suggested to improve a house is replacing an old boiler with a more efficient model, improving the insulation in the lofts and walls, and adding a conservatory.
The average price of a house in the UK is now £184,798, with the average London home costing £357,675, according to recent figures.
