Macerators - Macerator pumps help cut water waste
Toilet manufacturer Saniflo has pointed to macerator pumps as a way for environmentally friendly homeowners to cut back on their homes' water consumption.

Noting that "when it comes to saving water, every drop counts", a spokesperson for Saniflo explained that macerator pumps use less water than standard toilets which tend to use 3.5 gallons per flush.

"All Saniflo toilets are low-consumption. Most use 1.6 gallons per flush - two models use only 1.1 gallons per flush," the spokesperson continued.

"[A macerator pump] makes it easy to cut your water usage."

Macerating toilets look almost the same as a conventional system, but uses rotating blades to reduce waste to a liquid state, reducing the amount of water needed to flush it away.

Figures from Ofwat reveal that the average person in the UK uses around 33 gallons of water each day, based the use of a standard toilet.

Saniflo manufactures a range of macerator pumps for domestic use, including the Small Bore - which can be used to install a toilet almost anywhere in a house.ADNFCR-1168-ID-18540763-ADNFCR
