Plumbing - Exorcist called in to flush out toilet spook
29/10/2007
A public toilet in a library in Kent is haunted by a ghost who comes in to flush the toilet when everyone has left, according to librarian Gordon Jenns.
Former marine Mr Jenns is so disturbed by the phantom flusher that he was called for an exorcist to come in rid the loo of its unwanted occupant.
Mr Jenns also reports hearing spooky footsteps just before the ghost presses the flush every Friday night.
He told the Bexley Times: "It's happened three times in the past 11 years, always around seven o'clock on a Friday. It's very off-putting. The first time it happened I thought someone had broken in the back door so I went with something very heavy in my hand to give them a warm welcome.
"I'm absolutely certain the toilet flushed itself. The door was locked and the cistern was still filling up when I went in. It even happens when the loo door's locked."
Heat and Plumb don't do exorcisms - you'd be better off calling Ghostbusters. We do, however, sell a wide range of toilet products including subtle concealed cisterns from Mirage and Armitage Shanks and a range of specially designed toilets for disabled users.
