Plumbing - Glowing review for Saniflo Macerating Toilet System

Saniflo's new one-piece wall-hung Sanista Macerating Toilet system has received a glowing review from an American newspaper.

The unit was particularly praised for offering a space saving solution in homes as well as its high level of efficiency and the ease with which it can be fitted.

The review in the Cincinatti Enquirer said: "The space savings derive from the Sanistar's Euro-contemporary design that combines a macerating pump and an electronically activated flushing mechanism into a single package.

"Sanistar saves water by using only 1.1 gallons per flush, instead of the standard 1.6 gpf. The system uses a 1-inch, copper or plastic discharge pipe to pump effluent 9 feet vertically, 100 feet horizontally, or a combination of both."

The magazine's reviewer said the unit is especially suitable for basements, attics and garages and can be fitted "wherever it is most convenient for the home or building owner".
