Plumbing - Government plans new building drive
06/11/2007
The government is to launch a new drive to build more new homes across the country, it has been revealed.
The Queen's Speech included plans to develop three million more new homes across the UK by 2020, with the importance of environmentally-friendly housing being at the top of the agenda.
In this year's Queen's Speech, the government announced not only plans for the new homes, but also a new bill aimed at tackling climate change.
The government will need to look at developing more environmentally-friendly properties and ensure good use of modern technology to heat and power the new homes.
A recent study has highlighted how heat inefficient older homes are compared to modern properties, but if the government is intent on tackling emissions, it will have to ensure that its new homes are even more eco-friendly, meaning the implementation of good insulation and heating technology.
Trianco recently claimed that the outlay to purchase one of its class B
boilers is recouped by the investor within two years as a result of lower heating bills.
