Plumbing - In-car loo ends traffic toilet traumas
24/10/2007
Road accidents might well be on the increase, but a Japanese firm has come up with a solution to an altogether different kind of traffic mishap.
Kaneko Sangyo has developed an in-car toilet to be used on long trips or by drivers stuck in excruciatingly long traffic jams.
The device is composed of a cardboard outer with a water absorbent sheet inside, and for business travellers is sufficiently compact to fit in a suitcase.
Better yet, the manufacturers have also included a curtain to shield the shame of the user and keep out prying eyes.
A spokesperson for Kaneko told Kyodo News: "The commode will come in handy during major disasters such as earthquakes or when you are caught in a traffic jam."
The product will be available online from November 15th.
Heat and Plumb offers a range of toilet products including subtle concealed cisterns from Mirage and Armitage Shanks and a range of specially designed toilets for disabled users.
