Plumbing - Japanese up the ante for high-tech toilets
13/11/2007
Japanese toilet technicians have once again upped the ante for innovative loo seats in the form of a new product from Toshiba.
Among the selling points of Toshiba's seat are a special heating system to keep your behind warm in the coldest of conditions and a remote control which enables users to lift the lid from a distance.
Meanwhile, thanks to the incorporation of what the firm dubs a special "integrated heat retention mechanism" keeping your posterior warm is 55 per cent more energy-efficient with Toshiba's model than its competitors, scifi.com reports.
Also contributing to the
toilet seat's eco-credentials is the fact that when used as a bidet, hot water is heated up instantaneously for immediate use rather than continuously.
Toshiba's uber-throne isn't available in the UK. However, Heat and Plumb offers a range of inventive, innovative toilet products including subtle concealed cisterns from Mirage and Armitage Shanks and a range of specially designed toilets for disabled users.
