Plumbing - Medic flushes finger down the U-bend

A Malaysian medic who flushed a patient's severed finger down the toilet is facing an investigation, after the injured boy's mother complained to the police.

Zuraiza Omar was storing her son Muhamad Shaedil Amir's fingertip in ice after he sliced it off while chopping coconuts in the kitchen of their home.

Mrs Omar rushed her son to hospital, but was left stunned when the medic assigned to treat her boy took one look at his separated piece of pinky and promptly flushed it down the toilet, Metro reports.

She said: "He looked at it and said it could not be re-attached. He went out of the room and returned a few minutes later.

"The other staff asked for the fingertip and the man nonchalantly replied that he had flushed it down the toilet. I could sense that his colleagues were shocked by their expression."
