Plumbing - Plumbers can report ''rogue customers''
13/05/2008
A West Sussex-based builder has set up a website for plumbers, heating engineers and other tradespeople to report 'rogue customers', it has emerged.
Nigel Gray, who owns a glazing and conservatory firm, has given his fellow tradesman the chance to warn each about customers who refuse to pay for work to their
radiators,
underfloor heating systems and other bills.
The builder decided to start the site after facing losing £22,000 on a job to one customer.
"Everyone has heard of rogue traders but I think there is just as big a problem with rogue customers out there who fail to pay for a job well done," he commented.
Plumbers and other professionals who have experienced difficulty when working on homeowners' kitchens,
bathrooms and other developments can now log their details on www.roguecustomer.com.
Last month, Mr Gray made the news when he demolished a conservatory that a customer refused to pay for.
After being paid with two cheques that bounced, the builder and two assistants took down the construction and removed every brick from the site.
