Plumbing - Plumbing nominations sought
12/02/2008
Businesses across the UK have until February 29th 2008 to put forward the names of plumbers they think could be the best in the country.
Sector skills council for the building services engineering sector SummitSkills is running a competition dubbed SkillPlumb that aims to recognise the best plumbers around, but the organisation needs nominations to be made.
Entrants will be assessed on a number of practical tests based on work they would encounter in their current plumbing jobs.
Whoever wins the UK final, which will be contested by those who have proved successful in regional heats, will get the opportunity to represent the country in the WorldSkills competition held in Calgary, Canada, in 2009.
SummitSkills head of skills competitions and awards Neil Collishaw told the South Wales Echo that the competition offered "an exciting opportunity" for people in the plumbing industry "to showcase their talents".
