Plumbing - Privy Prop ends toilet trauma
09/11/2007
The age-old problem of men failing to lower the toilet seat after use could be over - thanks to a new invention from a nine-year-old boy.
Jason Wolf of Iowa has developed a foot-activated pedal, which lifts the seat prior to use.
Once pressure is taken off the pedal, which Jake calls the Privy Prop, the seat returns to its original position on the toilet.
Since developing the system Jake has been invited on Ellen DeGeneres TV chat show to outline how he came up with the idea and has been asked to display it as the Iowa State Fair.
Jake told Chinadaily.com: "My mom was getting mad at me for forgetting to put the toilet seat down and she was falling in."
The Privy Prop isn't available yet. However, Heat and Plumb offers a range of inventive, innovative toilet products including subtle concealed cisterns from Mirage and Armitage Shanks and a range of specially designed toilets for disabled users.
