Plumbing - Water efficient toilets mandatory in California
31/10/2007
All new buildings in California will be legally compelled to be fitted with water-efficient toilets and urinals, under a new law approved by hard as nails action hero turned tree hugging environmentalist Arnold Schwarzenegger.
According to a report from contractormag.com, the move will result in water savings of more than 8 billion gallons of water within 10 years.
As well as making it mandatory for homes and office buildings to use the water-saving toilets, the laws will also require half of all toilets sold in California to be water-saving models.
High efficiency urinals use one-half gallon per flush or less, while toilets using the technology use just 1.28 gallons per flush.
Heat and Plumb offers a range of water-saving bathroom fittings for use in the home, including Tratto's modern Monobloc Basic Mixer eco-
taps and Ceramix's Alto Modern Basin Monobloc Mixer taps.
