Renewable Energy - Dimplex praises green grants
01/05/2008
A leading supplier of ground source heat pumps has applauded the government's decision to increase grants for microgeneration technologies, according to Voltimum.
Dimplex pointed to the grants that are available to public sector organisations which make the switch to renewable technologies and highlighted that the cap has increased from 35 per cent of the cost to 50 per cent.
The Low Carbon Buildings Programme Phase 2 (LCBP2) will make installed equipment, including heat pumps, solar water heating and biomass
boilers, a more attractive choice for not-for-profit bodies such as schools and charities.
Chris Davis, head of renewables at Dimplex, told the website: "The LCBP2 grants have been enormously popular with the public sector.
"This increase in the funding limit will make renewable heating solutions an even more affordable option."
Mr Davies also noted that 60 projects have taken advantage of the scheme since it started, with more than half using Dimplex heat pumps.
The firm claims that it manufactures products which are suit able for any type of house and supplies a wide range of small and large-scale heating solutions.
