Solar Heating - Irish solar-powered eco-development underway
27/11/2007
An innovative new housing development of timber framed eco-homes is being built in Ballyhalbert, Northern Ireland.
The properties will go sale for £178,950 and thanks to the installation of energy-saving heating and power solutions are claimed to cut bills by up to 68 per cent.
This has been achieved thanks to the incorporation of turnkey finishing on the homes' insulation, as well as photo-valtaic solar panels on the roof, according to Gavin Logan, managing director of Lifestyle Homes, the firm undertaking the project.
He said: "That means you'll always have fresh air throughout the house without having to listen to the wind whistling.
"You will also have the benefit of a solar hot water system - and all this with very low running costs in gas and electricity."
Heat and Plumb sells an extensive range of green heating solutions including solar-powered systems such as Worcester's Greenskies Solar Package FKC-1S.
