14/12/2007
The chief executive officer of a clean energy and heating company has been nominated in a magazine's European of the Year category for his work in advancing eco-friendly technology.
Per Olofsson of Climate Well was nominated by European Voice magazine alongside such eminences grise as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Nicolas Sarkozy and Richard Branson.
The mag singled Mr Olofsson out for praise for his part in the development of "pioneering solar cooling technology, which could help to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from the heating and cooling of buildings".
Climate Well's flagship
solar heating system is capable of cutting an average family's CO2 emissions by up to 7,000kg per year.
The device works by harnessing the thermodynamic properties of water and salts for a solar powered system that works in tandem with a chemical heat pump.
Heat and Plumb sells a range of similarly efficient heating and solutions, including Worcester's Greenskies Solar Package, air source heat pumps from Trianco and energy-efficient
boilers.
