A US green energy solutions company has developed solar panels that minimise the potential for damage to your roof.

The Flexlight PVL differs from traditional solar panelling in that it sticks right to the roof without the need to install bolts.

This does away with having to make holes in your roof, which could in turn cause leaks in years to come.

Better yet say Florida-based manufacturers Advanced Green Technologies, it is also hurricane resistant and will go on providing electricity when all around you are without power.

And if that wasn’t incentive enough, the £6,000 cost of installation is paid back by the resultant savings within nine years, Randy Greene, President of Advanced Roofing told cfnews13.com.

Mr Greene added: "We want our environment to be good for our kids when they grow up, so we're doing the right thing."
