Solar Heating - Solar training partnership announced
19/02/2008
Boiler and
solar heating manufacturer Worcester Bosch has reportedly agreed to take part in a scheme to train at least 300
renewable energy engineers.
The company will work alongside Connaught Academy to equip staff with the skills needed to meet the demand for renewable energy solutions in Wales, reports Midlands Housing.
Caerphilly-based Connaught Academy currently trains tradesmen to work with
boilers, plumbing and electrics in social housing and small business environments.
However, the new partnership will provide engineers with the know-how needed to install solar heating systems.
The academy's regional training manager Huw Edwards said renewable energy is a fast growing industry and that the number of specialist engineers required by it is increasing.
He added: "Linking with a leading manufacturer such as Worcester Bosch will enable us to deliver the best possible service and equipment to our clients across Wales."
Worcester Bosch last year picked up both the National Training Centre and Regional Training Centre of the year awards from the Oil Firing Technical Association.
