Underfloor Heating - Eco-regulations ''are driving demand for underfloor heating''
19/12/2007
The need to comply with energy-efficiency regulations is prompting more and more home builders to opt for
underfloor heating systems, it has been claimed.
According to Chris Ingham, managing director of underfloor heating specialists Continental, the advent of energy certificates for homes has seen more and more home designers choose the systems.
This is likely to become even more marked as new-build legislation aimed at cutting energy use comes into force - especially since installation in new builds is comparable to a standard radiator system but is up to 30 per cent more energy-efficient, Mr Ingham told Contract Flooring Magazine.
News of Continental's MD's comments come amid a raft of press stories concerning new developments incorporating underfloor heating systems, including the Herbert Stutt primary school in Derbyshire and The Dukeshouse Wood children's recreation centre in the Hexham area.
Heat and Plumb sells underfloor heating systems from a wide range of brands including Continental, Polyplumb, Devi and Varme.
