18/01/2008
Power and gas company E.ON has announced that West Midlands-based heating group CHN Group is to become part of its energy services division.
The multi-million pound acquisition sees CHN Group's 430-employee business, which offers heating services to local authorities, housing associations and blue-chip builders, come under E.ON's control.
Following the takeover, E.ON's energy services managing director Don Leiper said that it was "great" to take on "rapidly-growing company" with experienced workers.
He added: "[Just] as importantly, we'll be able to utilise CHN's expertise to roll out the installation of the low-carbon solutions, such as solar panels, thermal and ground source heat pumps, we're developing as E.ON changes the way we look at energy in the UK."
Earlier this week, E.ON revealed that it has signed an agreement with Energetix Group, which will see the two firms develop and deploy a prototype micro combined heat and power unit for homes in the UK.
