Welsh centre uses renewable energy
A new learning centre, which contains renewable energy features, has opened in Wales, it has been reported.

Plas Pentwyn, in Coedpoeth, uses renewable energy sources such as a ground source heat pump, solar water heating and a wind catcher to help power the building, according to the Flintshire Standard.

Further energy efficiency is provided through the centre's rainwater harvesting system and sunpipes.

In addition to the children's playgroup which is now operational, an information centre and the Hafan Bwyd cafe will open in July.

The site includes meeting rooms, which also benefit from renewable energy, for local firms and several business units that have already been snapped up by local companies, with just two remaining vacant.

Nicola Millar, Plas Pentwyn's development officer, told the newspaper: "I would encourage everyone in the village to come and visit Plas Pentwyn and see the facilities and training opportunities it has to offer."

Last month, the Farmer's Guardian reported the new Regional Agricultural Centre will include solar water heating technology in a bid to use renewable energy.
