Bathrooms can be relaxing havens - News |
Bathrooms can be relaxing havens30/06/2008 Simple ways to turn an ordinary bathroom into a "luxurious and relaxing haven" have been suggested by the Daily Record. In a recent article, the newspaper claims renovations to a home's bathroom are a good investment, which can boost the attractiveness of a house should the owner decide to sell. The advice suggests making a small bathroom seem larger by removing the bath entirely and replacing it with a power shower, while clever use of lighting can make the room seem tranquil. Having a colour scheme can also improve the bathroom, with the article noting: "Blue has always been a traditional colour for the bathroom, but try to break away from the nautical theme and really embrace your creativity." Extra touches to liven up a bathroom are also suggested, including heated towel rails, a whirlpool bath with underwater lights and a plasma screen television. Last week, Jane Walmsley, area sales director at real estate firm Your Move, suggested modern bathrooms and kitchens can make a house more attractive to potential buyers. ![]() |
