Woman stuck to toilet seat for two years

A Kansas woman has been rescued after sitting on her boyfriend's toilet seat for two years.
The 35-year-old used her boyfriend's bathroom and never came out. He called the police two years later.
By the time the authorities had been alerted, the woman had become stuck to the toilet.
New County sheriff Bryan Whipple said: "We pried the toilet seat off with a pry bar and the seat went with her to the hospital."
The unnamed 36-year-old boyfriend has not explained to investigators why it took him so long to ask for help, but says he took food and drink to her every day.
When asked when she would leave the bathroom, she is reported to have told him "Maybe tomorrow".
Sheriff Whipple also said: "She said that she didn't need any help, that she was OK and did not want to leave."
Rescuers eventually talked the women round and took her to hospital, where the toilet seat was removed from her legs.
Japanese authorities have also noted a similar phenomenon. The country has seen to up to one million examples of 'hikikomori', or withdrawal, where sufferers lock themselves in a room and refuse to leave.
