Boilers - Snakes in a plain old boiler20/05/2008 Pest controllers had to be called to a Portsmouth house when a four-foot snake was discovered in the boiler, it has been reported. An "almost hysterical" young woman called pest expert Lee Marshall about a reptile in her boiler, leading him to think she was playing a joke, according to the BBC. However, when he and a colleague looked inside the appliance, they spotted an orange snake curled up inside. Mr Marshall, from pest control firm Contract Killers, told the news provider: "I attempted to coax the snake out though the top of the boiler. "At this stage, the snake very quickly slithered around the inside of the boiler and started disappearing through a hole in the wall above the boiler." He then told how he grabbed the serpent to prevent it from escaping and took it home before notifying Maxwell Zoo. According to cornsnake.co.uk, orange snakes are pleasant-natured animals and are commonly found beneath logs, rocks and loose bark and in plumbing, it seems. ![]() |
