Fires and Heaters - Dimplex lends a heating hand to Bristol refurbishment project25/04/2008 Heat pump specialist Dimplex has donated five of its PLX panel heaters to a maintenance project in Bristol. Intended to provide essential heating for a games room which is part of the refurbishment of Ashton Vale Club for Young People, the heaters are said to be one of the most cost-effective ways of extending an existing heating system. "We just want to say a massive 'thank you' for all the hard work and commitment shown, and of course to Dimplex and the other sponsors without whom it would not have been possible," a spokesperson for Young Bristol, a voluntary organisation involved in the renovation, told Buildingtalk. According to Dimplex, electrical heating offers installers and homeowners "highly accurate" temperature control as well as minimal maintenance requirements. In another gesture of plumbing goodwill this year, fellow pump specialist Grundfos lent its support to a multimedia extravaganza intended to boost clean toilet provision worldwide. Taking place in Droitwich Spa in September, the WaterAid event will aim to raise funds to help more than 2.6 billion people across the globe who do not have access to safe or clean sanitary facilities. ![]() |
