OFTEC recognise excellence in oil tank and boiler field
11/03/2008
The Oil Firing Technical Association (Oftec) has launched its annual search for excellence in the field of oil heating and cooker, looking to oil tank manufacturers such Balmoral and Titan.
In 2008, Oftec has added new categories to its Awards for Excellence to reflect the increased industry awareness of environmental issues, as well as recognise the continued work of plumbers and heating technicians.
The award for green initiative of the year is open to entries from Oftec members who have developed eco-friendly goods and services for the industry.
Explaining the new category, Oftec director general Jeremy Hawksley said: "The green initiative award reflects the move towards more environmentally-friendly technologies such as the use of liquid biofuels for home heating."
Other categories in the awards include oil tank installer, oil boiler installer, oil cooker installer, service/commissioning engineer and trainee of the year.
All entrants to the prize have a chance of winning a £500 cheque.
Last year, Titan Environmental was among the sponsors of the event and praised the contenders for Regional Oil Tank Installer of the Year.
Oftec members and technicians who would like to enter the awards can do so at Oftec online. The deadline is June 30th.
