Plumbing - Norwich is plumbing hotspot06/05/2008 If you're the kind of homeowner who is always looking for a plumber to repair broken sinks, taps and toilets you should consider moving to Norwich, new research suggests. A poll by Barclays has shown the UK towns with the highest and lowest concentrations of businesses and the East Anglian city has come top of the list for plumbers, with one for every 439 people. Northern neighbours Barnsley and Doncaster come in second and third, with a plumber between every 1,133 and 1,606 residents respectively. However, those living in Kensington and Chelsea should not expect their toilet fixed in a hurry, with one plumbing company for every 6,137 people. Also revealed was that homeowners in Ealing stand the best chance of finding a builder, with a firm between 199 people, while Kensington and Chelsea residents have the least chance again - with one firm for every 1,534. John Davis, marketing director of Barclays Local Business, said: "Most of us have had experiences of trying to track down a plumber or electrician and this analysis highlights where different business types dominate." ![]() |
