Radiators - New heating controls launched by Danfoss

Danfoss, the manufacturer of products such as the Megaflow Hot Water Cylinder HE Systemfit, has announced the launch of a new cost-saving heating control unit.

The RA PLUS-w is a radiator thermostat that uses Z-Wave to provide independent heating control for an entire household.

Innovatively, the unit can even be used to remotely control the temperature of a house or apartment, with Z-Wave technology allowing access through PCs, PDAs, mobile phones or remote controls.

Combined with the timer, a user of the heating controls can ensure their house is heated at the right times and use the remote function to adjust for changes in their schedule.

The unit can also select to heat different rooms at different times, with an owner able to turn the radiators on it in their living room while keeping their bedroom cool.

Heating is one of the biggest energy costs faced by the consumer, notes trade magazine hiddenwires, and lowering room temperature by one degree can reduce energy costs by six per cent.
