Worcester-Bosch head receives award24/06/2008 The managing director of boiler firm Worcester-Bosch has been recognised at the Renewable Energy Association's annual awards. Richard Soper was handed the Renewable Energy Associations Champion Award for promoting the use of sustainable technologies during a gala dinner held yesterday (June 23rd). The award noted Mr Soper's "personal commitment" in encouraging his firm to become more involved in the renewable energy industry and drew attention the training courses for installers he has established. Others recognised by the Renewable Energy Association include Marks & Spencer, which received the Pioneer Award, while Kirkburton Parish Council was given the Regional Award for its efforts to encourage renewable energy microgeneration. Philip Wolfe, the Renewable Energy Association executive director, commented: "These awards honor outstanding achievement in the British renewable energy sector and act as recognition of exceptional contribution, innovation and excellence in the industry." The Renewable Energy Association was established in 2001 and works to promote the use of the technology and represent firms operating in the sector. ![]() |
