Bathroom Taps - Water recycling cuts homeowners bill by 40 Percent07/11/2007 A Nottingham man has cut his water bill to just £7 per month thanks to a water recycling system. Bob Imrie's three-bedroom home uses a recycling system that collects and treats rainwater, which is then pumped to his toilet, washing machine and an outside tap, the Times reports. In so doing, he has reduced his payment to his water company by 40 per cent. Mr Imrie said: 'It's crazy to be paying for water to be drained off, processed by the utility company and returned to you when the original water is fine to use for flushing your toilet and in your garden. " The Times predicts that as environmental awareness becomes more widespread, homes which are already fitted with energy and resource saving fittings will accrue higher prices in the housing market. Heat and Plumb offers a range of products through which homeowners can cut their water wastage. Among these are water saving taps such as Tratto's modern Monobloc Basic Mixer Taps, Ceramix Alto Modern Basin Monobloc Mixer Taps and Balmoral Continuous Areation Plants CAP for the efficient and eco-friendly treatment of sewage. ![]() |
